Well Embroidered Owner, Sara Rickards, fell in love with embroidery and fashion at the tender age of 8. At 17 she went to the Royal School of Needlework to study all aspects of hand embroidery in great depth, graduating with Distinction in 2006.

From there she went to work with one of the leading embroidery companies, gaining invaluable experience within the
fashion industry. Whilst there Sara worked for some of the top names in the industry, such as Ben De Lisi, Jenny Packham, Julien Macdonald and Vera Wang. She also set up a school of embroidery, where she taught many aspiring embroiderers.

In 2011 Sara decided to set up her own business, continuing her work within the fashion industry and extending further into other areas such as ecclesiastical, art and embroidered accessories. Over time this has developed further and Sara’s main focus now is teaching the wonderful skill of hand embroidery through group lessons, whilst also¬†designing and producing embroidery kits, which are available to purchase in the shop.

  • I would love to hear more about your work and especially if you take commissions,

    Kind Regards, Margaret

    • Hi Margaret,
Thank you so much for leaving a comment.
Basically, I am trained in all forms of hand embroidery to a professional standard along with conservation and restoration of textiles. I have been doing embroidery now for 14 years and I am currently designing more embroidery kits for my website. With regards to commissions, I’m happy to work on new designs large or small, from beading to cross stitch and everything in between.
Is there anything more specific you would like to know?

      Happy stitching!
