Jacobean Crewelwork is a historical embroidery technique and style of embroidery which became popular in the Seventeenth Century.

You will learn a wide range of Crewelwork stitches with this contemporary style embroidery kit. Worked in 2 ply Appletons wool on Linen Twill. This kit is aimed at people with a basic understanding of embroidery.

A detailed 36 page instruction booklet takes you through each stitch. Stitches include, starting and finishing your thread, Raised Stem Band, Trellis, Fishbone stitch, Closed fly stitch, Chain stitch, French Knots, Heavy Chain stitch, Raised Chain Band, Stem stitch, Bullion Knots, Herringbone stitch, Whipped and Woven Wheels, Whipped Stem stitch, Coral stitch, Split stitch, Long & Short, Satin stitch, Vandyke stitch, and Laid Work. There is also additional hints and tips to help you with this technique, a stitch plan, colour plan and a stitch direction diagram. Worked in a palette of greys and pinks with a highlight colour of mustard yellow, it all comes in a beautiful presentation box making it the ideal gift for yourself or someone else. In addition, I also offer email support should you need it.

Each kit includes; Detailed 36 page instruction booklet, x12 skeins of Appletons wool (1 of each colour), Linen Twill with the design printed on, x2 No.7 Embroidery needles, x2 No.5 Embroidery needles, x2 No.20 Chenille needles and x1 No.20 Tapestry needle.

Finished size of the embroidery is 17 x 15cm.

You will also need; Embroidery scissors, 10″ ring frame.
